NAIL EXTENSIONS/ ACRYLICS HAMILTON

Acrylic nails are a very strong artificial nail system made by mixing:

  • Liquid monomer
  • Powder polymer

When these two are mixed with a brush, they create a soft bead that hardens in the air. It then becomes a solid plastic layer over the natural nail or over a nail extension.

Simple explanation

Acrylic is used to build length and strength on nails and it is one of the strongest nail systems used in salons.

What it is used for

* Creating long nail extensions

* Reshaping nails

* Very strong overlays

* Extreme shapes (stiletto, coffin, long square)

Typical acrylic process

  1. Natural nail prep

  2. Nail tip or sculpting form applied

  3. Brush dipped into monomer liquid

  4. Pick up acrylic powder bead

  5. Sculpt the nail

  6. Let it air cure (no lamp needed)
